Paavo Järvi re-records Bruckner No. 7 for the first time in about 15 years!

Paavo Järvi, who is fresh in the memory of the release of the complete Bruckner symphonies completed over 11 years with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, has picked up No. 7 again. Among the previous complete works, No. 7 was recorded in November 2006 as Paavo's first Bruckner recording, so it can not be said that the timing of re-recording is too close.
Comparing the recording time with the old version, it is faster in all movements, especially in the 2nd movement, there is a difference of nearly 1 minute 30 seconds, but the performance makes you feel the outline of the music clearly, but it is rather romantic. It gives an impression, and you can hear unique interpretations everywhere with sharp phrases. In addition, although the edition is not specified this time, the use of percussion instruments in the second movement and other similar Novak editions are the basis, but the frequent ritardando at the beginning of the fourth movement is more in-depth than the previous edition. I have the impression that it is progressing at a tempo.
In addition to the placement of the violin on both wings, which allows you to fully enjoy the contrapuntal fun, the Wagner tuba is placed in front of the trombone and bass tuba on the right side, which is opposite to the horn, to improve the affinity of the ensemble. It also succeeds in giving depth to the sound. A great album that lives up to expectations of a re-recording.
Paavo Järvi and the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra are planning to record further Nos. 8 and 9 by 2024, the 200th anniversary of Bruckner's birth. (Importer information)
