If you were unable to score a ticket to see classical superstar Yo-Yo Ma on May 3 in Music Hall, you can still watch him perform in a live simulcast on Fountain Square’s LED video board, downtown. The cellist’s 7:30 p.m. concert, sold out since September, will be fed live to Fountain Square, thanks to a Cincinnati Symphony partnership with CET, Cincinnati Bell, Cincinnati Center City Development Corp (3CDC) and WGUC.
It is Ma’s first performance with the orchestra in 25 years. The 15-time Grammy winner will perform Dvorak’s Cello Concerto, with Paavo Järvi conducting. The all-Dvorak program includes “Carnival” Overture and Symphony No. 9, “From the New World.”
