The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra’s Baltic Portraits CD, the final recording made by former music director Paavo Jarvi, is a recipient of the prestigious Les Diapason d’Or in France this month: www.diapasonmag.fr/ The editor writes, “Estonian Paavo Jarvi paints a varied panorama of Baltic music today.” The Diapason d’Or is a recommendation of outstanding classical music recordings given by reviewers of Diapason magazine in France, broadly equivalent to “Editor’s Choice” or “Disc of the Month” in Gramophone magazine.
